Mechanical HVAC Engineer

We are currently looking for a highly motivated candidate as a Mechanical / Plumbing and Fire Protection Design Engineer to join our team as we grow.

Essential Descriptions and Responsibilities:

  • Design of plumbing and fire protection systems, including schematic conceptualization, load calculation, equipment selections, layouts or piping

  • Writing specifications and scopes of work

  • Designs will result in producing 100% complete construction documents and preparing accurate, well-organized, and detailed CAD drawings from field measurements and notes.

  • The candidate will be able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment.

  • Actively participate in the development, implementation and enforcement of standards, and criteria

Basic Qualifications

  • Four (4) year engineering degree from an accredited university or college

  • PE highly desired

  • Four (4) to ten (10) years of experience with a Consulting Engineering or A/E firm, experience in HVAC/Plumbing design

  • Experience in completing MEP construction design documents utilizing Autodesk Revit

  • Strong problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills and personal computer skills

  • Strong management skills, and a desire to grow professionally.

  • Possess an outgoing and positive attitude and take personal pride in producing high quality and on-time designs for our clients. 

This position is available in Richmond, VA

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

The candidate will have a four (4) year engineering degree. EIT registration is required and PE registration is a plus (recent college graduates will be considered as well). Duties will include holistic design of electrical systems, including schematic conceptualization, lighting and load calculations, power distribution, emergency power systems, lighting, low-voltage system design (fire alarm, data, intrusion detection, security camera, intercom/sound, etc.), writing specifications, and more. Designs will result in producing construction documents; design and documents will be produced utilizing Autodesk Revit. Responsibilities will also include limited construction administration. This position is available in Roanoke, Richmond, or other locations depending on experience level. 

Mechanical/Plumbing and Fire Protection Design Engineer

Administrative Assistant

Ascent Engineering Group is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a position of Administrative Assistant.  This job will include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the offices, answering phone calls, assisting in scheduling meetings and events, carrying out administrative duties such as filing, typing, and copying, etc.  This position will also include assistance with business development materials utilizing the Adobe Acrobat suite and working with the Marketing Manager as well as handling and processing reports, submittals, and the like.  Requirements include appropriate software knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.  Experience with the Adobe Acrobat suite, namely InDesign is preferred.  This position is available in our Roanoke or Richmond office in Virginia.

 

Mechanical/Electrical Design Technician

Ascent Engineering Group is a high-performance engineering group that has an immediate opening for a mechanical/electrical design technician. This candidate will have a minimum two (2) year technology degree. Experience with a Consulting Engineering or A/E firm is desired. However, recent graduates will also be considered for this position. Duties include assisting Engineers with system design, including take-offs, data entry, pipe and duct routing, power distribution, lighting calculations and layouts, and more. Candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting in production related tasks. It is preferable that candidates be experienced in a production environment utilizing Autodesk Revit. This position is available in our Roanoke or Richmond, Virginia office locations.
